On 27-28 March, the Partnership for Action on Green Economy (PAGE) is hosting its second international Ministerial conference. The event is taking place in Berlin and will bring together 300 leaders from governments, civil society, private sector and media to discuss how to accelerate the shift to green investments, sustainable lifestyles and an inclusive economy.

CUSP Director Prof Tim Jackson is joining the opening panel at the eve of the conference, convening at the Federal Ministry of Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB). Moderated by Robert Collins, the theme for the evening is ‘Whose prosperity? How can we build inclusive, sustainable economies?’.

Co-panelists are Winnie Byanyima (Executive Director, Oxfam), Esther Byer-Suckoo (Barbados’ Minister of Labour and Social Security), Jürgen Heraeus (Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Heraeus Holding and Chair, B20), and Elliott Harris (UN Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the UNEP New York Office). The discussion is focusing on the general questions: ‘Does globalization promote the wrong sort of growth? Can it be reconfigured to promote stable, more equal economies which do not overstretch environmental resources?’.
