Former core researcher with CUSP, Geraldine is exploring the role of alternative models of enterprise and alternative investment strategies in contributing to sustainable prosperity. Following her move to Ireland early 2019, she is continuing her work with us as an honorary fellow.

Dr Geraldine Brennan is now the Circular Economy Lead at Irish Manufacturing Research (IMR). Prior to this appointment, Geraldine was a Research Fellow at the Centre for Enterprise and Economic Development Research (CEEDR), Middlesex University Business School and a core researcher at CUSP exploring the role of alternative models of enterprise and alternative investment strategies in contributing to sustainable prosperity. Following her move to Ireland in early 2019, Geraldine is continuing her work with us as an honorary fellow.

Geraldine holds a PhD in Strategic Management from Imperial College London, funded by the EPSRC Centre for Industrial Sustainability (EPSRC CIMIS) and EIT Climate-KIC. Her PhD explored the impact of power relations in business ecosystems on sustainable value creation opportunities and sustainable business model innovation. She also has a MSc in Environmental Technology (Business & Environment) and BA in Politics and Philosophy.

She has publications in Business Strategy & Environment; Current Opinion in Environmental Sustainability and the Journal of Industrial Ecology.

Geraldine is the Editor of EIT Climate-KIC’s recent Climate Innovation Insights on the Circular Economy—Series 2 (2017) and Series 3 (2019). In addition, she holds honorary visiting positions at Imperial College London and Middlesex University.
