Ellen is a visiting researcher from Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU). Working within our research stream on alternative business models, she is exploring environmental social enterprises in the UK.
Ellen Stenslie works with environmentally motivated social enterprises in the UK. Her interest lies in how such enterprises work with environmental governance challenges and act as institutional entrepreneurs to achieve their aims.
Previously she has worked as a Carbon Offsetting Advisor for an environmental think tank in Norway and with NGO-corporate partnerships in India. She is currently on the board of the European Society for Ecological Economics (ESEE).
Ellen holds a MA in International Environmental Governance from Norwegian University of Life Sciences, a BSc in Business Management and Organisational Psychology from the Sør-Trøndelag University College and further studies within Political Economy. Areas of research interest include alternative forms of enterprise, ecopreneurship, creating sustainable economic institutions, corporate law and environmental governance systems.
