Joanna Kitchen is a PhD candidate with CUSP, based at the Centre for Enterprise and Economic Development Research at Middlesex University. She working on our P-Theme, examining calculative practices and socio-environmental accounting procedures in hybrid organisations.

Joanna Kitchen is a PhD candidate based in the Centre for Enterprise and Economic Development Research, Middlesex University in London; under Prof. Fergus Lyon’s supervision. Her proposed research project is situated within the CUSP theme on Political and organisational dimensions of Sustainable Prosperity, assessing calculative practices and social/environmental accounting procedures in hybrid organisations.

She holds a double BSc degree in Medical Science and Business (Accounting) from University of Technology, Sydney (Australia). Prior to her move to the UK, she held an Associate Lecturer position in the Australian National University and University of New South Wales.  Other research interests are within the areas of sustainability accounting, management accounting, the social enterprise context, organisational strategy, control systems, and organisational behaviour studies.
